Charles William Anheuser, 86, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:25 A.M., Thursday, January 27, 2005 at the Benton Health Care in Benton.
Charles was a retired coal miner, last working as a face boss at Orient #6, Freeman Coal Mine. He was of the Catholic Faith. He was a US Navy veteran of W. W. II. He was a member of the Du Quoin American Legion Post 647 and Du Quoin VFW Post 513 and the UMW of A.
He was born March 20, 1918 at Du Quoin, the son of Joseph and Dora (Ebegener) Anheuser.
He married Pauline V. Hill on August 31, 1940 at the Sacred Heart Rectory in DuQuoin and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, son- Kenneth W. Anheuser of Du Quoin, four grandchildren- Kristina Jo Anheuser, Jeannie Marie Cook, Angela Kay McKinnies, Kenneth G. Anheuser, seven great grandchildren, sister- Wilma Schiller of Arizona, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son- Charles J. Anheuser and three sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, January 30, 2005 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Msgr. Harry Jerome and Rev. Gerald Wright officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M. Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin American Legion and Du Quoin VFW Post.
Friends may make memorials to the Spirit of Life Christian Church, Sacred Heart Church, Alzheimer's Association or to the donors choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
